Official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 Released via Samsung Kies or OTA

Good news for owners of Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. The device is finally getting an update of 4.1.2 Jelly Bean goodness, featuring TouchWiz Nature UX, Project Butter and Google Now.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 finally begins to roll out, and its maker decided to skip the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich flavour. The update is coming out in phases which means owners will not receive it immediately or at least not at the same time.

Software engineers are still working for the specific network carrier test of the new firmware before declaring a "go signal" for a roll out. After updating your Galaxy Ace 2, the device will receive the following new features:

To update your Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, go to "Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check for Updates." Over-the-Air update is better with Wi-Fi connection. If your device received a notice, create a backup of files and personal information before proceeding.

You can also update the device using the Samsung Kies PC Suite installed on your computer. Simply launch the application on your computer, connect the phone via USB cable to your computer and wait till the device has been initialised. The application will prompt you of any updates available and if ever you desire to update it as well. The update process will ask you create a backup as well before proceeding.

After the update, Samsung Kies will restore the backup files and now the device runs the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
