Sony Xperia T and V have a new certified Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware from PTCRB and push the apparent rollout date to early February similar to Xperia SP. New build 9.2.A.0.295 seems to suggest several bug fixes found on the previous 9.2.A.0.290 build.

Xperia T And V Update Delayed

PTCRB posted a newly certified Android 4.3 firmware for Xperia T and V with build version 9.2.A.0.295. It looks like an incremental and bug fixing firmware of 9.2.A.0.290 build that was previously certified.

With this newly certified firmware, official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update rollout date for both Xperia smartphones has been moved to early February instead of end of January, similar to what Xperia SP users are experiencing now.

Aside from expected bug fixes, enhancements and stability improvements, no known other changes have been noted regarding the new firmware build version.

Certified Firmware Versions

PTCRB certified four firmware build versions for Xperia T and V running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean within 2 months. The new Android version certification builds began back in December 2013 and the latest would be the final version scheduled for release next month.

Similar with Xperia SP, Xperia T and V will get major changes from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update such as My Xperia Themes, Smart Social camera platform and Xperia Z1 home launcher. Also, both smartphones are being investigated for eligibility of Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Reactions From the Public

Xperia T and V users were a little upset of the delay. Some of them believed the hard polishing performed by Sony to deliver almost bug-free firmware update.

Some comments included anxiety for February release date and hoped no more extensions or delays for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. Others wonder about the status of Xperia TX on getting Android 4.3, which was currently on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean version.

Moreover, users were hoping Sony will approve Android 4.4 KitKat update for Xperia T and V even if it was the last update the company intends to do.

Both smartphones have been officially released back in December 2012 and still within the 18-month update window period that will expire in September this year, enough time for Android 4.4 update.
