Troy Ridling, a member of the Owasso First Assembly of God church in Oklahoma, recently stole the congregation's laptop. Not content with stealing his church's property, he attempted to commit another sin, but it was this act that led to his arrest.

Mr Ridling could have enjoyed the laptop the rest of his life with no one suspecting he stole it from the church were it not for his being frustrated that the computer had a porn blocker software, Covenant Eyes.

The software firm contacted the church to report of attempts to bypass the blocker and access porn sites and when it didn't work, the direct request from Mr Ridling to remove the software.

That act led to the church tracing the whereabouts of the laptop and Mr Ridling being arrested and jailed at the Tulsa County Jail for possession of stolen property, although he has been temporarily released but still facing the burglary and possession of stolen goods charges, CNET reported.

In contrast, California thieves who stole several computers from a Sexual Assault Services Office in the state, upon discovery of the contents of the gadgets, returned the filched items and even left a note of apology.
