The old Nexus 7 price significantly dropped as the refreshed Nexus tablet is now available in Google Store and retail stores.

In Amazon, the price of the original Nexus 7 tablet with 16 GB internal storage ranged from $160 to $180.

The new Google Nexus 7 finally hit the shelves of retail stores. The refreshed Nexus 7 price starts at $229 for the 16 GB model, and runs up to $269 for 32 GB of storage. However, these prices are for the Wi-Fi-only variants; Google was expected to release a 4G LTE-capable Nexus 7 later.

American consumers can purchase directly from Google at the Google Play store with 1 to 2 days waiting time due to shipping. The tablet is also available at major retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, Radio Shack and Staples, where the Nexus 7 refresh costs the same.

However, other countries will have to wait a while longer. Google started sign up pages for countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Canada and India, where buyers will receive notification when the device becomes available in their country. In Canada, retailers were apparently selling the tablet, although they have limited supply.

Despite bearing a costly price tag than its predecessor, the new tablet garnered rave reviews, claiming that the specs and features of the Nexus 7 tablet are worthy of the price tag.

The next generation of Nexus 7 comes with the 4.3 Jelly Bean OS and includes support on 4G/LTE connectivity, which was lacking from the original Nexus 7.

The new Nexus 7 boasts a 7-inch screen display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor paired with 2 GB RAM, 5-megapixel rear shooter and 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and wireless charging.
