The man, deported from Saudi Arabia for officials’ fear of his impact on SA women, has reached a mind-blowing, 1-million followers on Facebook, just a month after his scandalous good looks.

On May 30, 2013, Omar’s new-found stardom has reached another milestone when his Facebook page recorded a staggering 1,000,000 followers, mostly women from all walks of life, around the world. The new record came just one month and one week after the new internet sensation has caught the world by surprise with his extraordinary story of being deported for being too beautiful.

But the astounding number should not come as a surprise as Omar has felt the love of women around the world - - those who offered him home after being thrown out of Saudi Arabia. The middle-eastern man has been loved for his good looks, perfect-sounding voice and thoughts that he expressively shares on his community page.

Pre-deportation days: > 85,000 Facebook Followers (2008- April 25, 2013)
Back when Omar was a low-key model and actor, the self-described poet had recorded just about 85,000 followers. Nothing could prepare him and his family and friends for what about to come next after the deportation scandal reached the computer screens of millions of women.

April 25, 2013: 85,000 Facebook followers
The Omar Phenomenon came to life. News outlet, Jezebel identified Omar as one of the three men deported because of his good looks. The world wasn’t ready for a man rejected by a country because of his unlawful good looks. IBTimes-AU’s follow-up report had gone viral and the Omar “earthquake” was widely read and accepted. The new internet sensation was born.

April 27, 2013: 250,000 Facebook Followers
Forty-eight (48) hours after the news of Omar’s deportation was clicked world-wide, Omar had increased his Facebook followers from a mere 85,000 to 250,000. There was nothing like it.

Just before the news broke out of his deportation, Omar had a mere 85K followers on Facebook. It was selling as hotcake as it increases thousands by the hour - - and it recorded a staggering 250K within 48-hours knew about him.

April 30, 2013: 510,361 Facebook followers
Five days after the news of Omar’s deportation continued to shock the world - - from Brazil and Chile to Vietnam and Indonesia and the whole world - - Omar had recorded a staggering half-million followers on Facebook and with 400,000 people talking about him on the social media network.

Even Omar could not believe the impact his international superstardom has brought on him and his family and friends.

May 2, 2013: Omar’s FB page got mysteriously deleted.
His page got surprisingly deleted and had gone missing on May 2. It already had approximately between 550K to 600K followers back then. Omar noted in his personal page that he lost the page and promised his fans that his new-found team had already been in contacts with FB officials.

May 8, 2013: Omar’s FB got recovered.
Even in the mysterious disappearance of his official FB page, his followers continued to grow. When it got recovered, there was about 700k on his Facebook as increased number of followers.

May 15, 2013: 921,000 Facebook followers
IBTimes-AU predicted that he could reach one million of Facebook followers just days on the second week of May, after recording an overwhelming Facebook followers at more than 900K.

May 29-30, 2013: 1,000,000 Facebook followers
Omar Borkan Al Gala has reached another milestone on his new-found stardom as his FB page officially reached one million followers. Women all over the world continued to love him.

June 3, 2013: 1,011,087 Facebook followers
Days after his deportation broke out, Omar’s FB page gains 5,000 followers every hour. And this number has decreased since then but the page continues to grow at about 4,000 to 5,000 followers a day. With his immense popularity, the latest number of followers has on Facebook as of writing was recorded at 1,011,087.

His career has also begun to reach its new heights, said Omar and his management team. The Dubai native has hired his management team since second week of May; he had been offered a lot of projects; and Omar is about to begin filming an independent short film, ’51.’ Omar will be embarking on a number of tours this month and the coming ones and will be visiting Latin American countries and ones in Europe.
