Another familiar face is set to return in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5. The new season of ABC’s fairy tale drama series will incorporate a storyline that involves the comeback of OUAT character Mulan (Jamie Chung) after joining Robin Hood’s Merry Men in “Once Upon a Time” Season 3.

OUAT series creator and executive producer Adam Horowitz recently shared on Twitter about the return of actress Jamie Chung as the warrior Mulan in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5. “Hey #Oncers, look who's back! Thrilled to welcome @jamiechung1 back to #OnceUponATime season 5! #Mulan,” Horowitz posted on his Twitter account @AdamHorowitzLA on Tuesday.

Mulan’s last appearance happened in “Once Upon a Time” Season 3, episode 3 titled “Quite a Common Fairy.” Mulan decided to join Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) and his band of Merry Men after finding out that Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger), the one that Mulan has romantic feelings for, is expecting a baby with Prince Philip (Julian Morris).

In an interview with E! News, Chung is looking forward for a reunion between her OUAT character and Princess Aurora. Chung admitted that she would return as Mulan in a heartbeat because she finds it disappointing to leave the OUAT fans with this big question mark on her character.

Chung also hopes that Mulan will be able to enjoy a full-blown romance when the OUAT fans see the character again. Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly (EW) reports that Horowitz has also teased on Twitter about the episode that Mulan could show up in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5.

The upcoming seventh episode of “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 is titled “Nimue” which also translates to “Lady of the Lake,” the third episode of “Once Upon a Time” Season 2 where Mulan appeared. The details on Mulan’s return for a multi-episode arc are being kept under wraps.

Aside from the anticipated Mulan-Aurora reunion, TVOvermind suggests that Mulan’s return in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 could provide some flashback scenes on what happened during her journey with Robin Hood and the Merry Men. “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 will premiere on Sunday night, Sept. 27, at 8/7c on ABC.
