OnePlus 3 release date nears as leaked photos surface; New design, price, specifications, features revealed

The OnePlus 3 smartphone is pegged to release by June this year. Fresh photos of the smartphone and its retail boxes have been revealed which indicates that OnePlus 3 release date is drawing near.

A working prototype of the alleged OnePlus 3 has been revealed on Weibo. The front panel of the smartphone features a physical Home button which suggests that it will probably include a fingerprint reader. The back panel of OnePlus 3 seems to feature a sandstone appeal. The rear side also features an antenna band at the top, GSM Arena reported.

The OnePlus 3 seems to sport a distinctive design. Earlier this year, the co-founder of OnePlus – Carl Pei had revealed that the smartphone would be sporting a captivating design. It is expected to arrive with a different design than that of OnePlus 2. OnePlus 3 leaked photos suggests that it will appear different from its predecessor.

OnePlus 3 rumours indicate that the smartphone will arrive in two versions. One of them will be a device with advanced specs. It will be coming with specification such as Snapdragon 820 SoC, 6 GB of RAM and inbuilt storage of 64 GB. The second OnePlus 3 variant will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It will be featuring 32 GB of native storage.

Both the smartphones will be equipped with 5.5-inch screen that will carry support for full HD resolution. Other rumours suggest that the high-end variant of OnePlus 3 will be featuring a Quad HD resolution supporting display. OnePlus 3 variants will arrive preloaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow that will be customized with OxygenOS from OnePlus.

The starting model of OnePlus is expected to be priced at $310 (AU$423). The Chinese firm had launched OnePlus with a starting cost of $349 (AU$474). Hence, OnePlus 3 is speculated to launch with a cheaper price tag.

The images of retail boxes of OnePlus 3 indicate that its release date is close at hand. Pei has also revealed that the OnePlus 3 would launch by June. Speculations suggest that OnePlus 3 will be announced in this year and it will be available for purchase from next month.
