OnePlus 3 specs: 6 reasons to buy the smartphone
The OnePlus 3 is believed to be unveiled in the immersive virtual world through its own Loop VR. Currently, June 14 is believed to be the release date of OnePlus 3.
Last week, the successor to the OnePlus 2 passed through FCC certification. Earlier, the handset has also been certified by Chinese regulatory body TENNA. Here are the six most speculated specs and features of the OnePlus 3 which might entice the customers to buy the smartphone:
1. Display and design
Prevailing rumours suggest that the new OnePlus 3 will feature a 5.5-inch display with Full HD 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The smartphone will flaunt a metallic design and come packed with commendable specs and features.
2. Fingerprint scanner
The OnePlus 3 is said to be shipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded on its home button .
3. Processor and memory
The upcoming OnePlus 3 will be offered in two variants with different storage capacities. Both the variants will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset with a quad-core 2.15GHz CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU for t6he graphics. The 32 GB storage model will be paired with 4 GB of RAM, whereas the 64 GB variant will come packed with 6 GB of RAM.
The OnePlus 2 is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor and offers 3GB and 4GB of RAM configurations paired with 16GB and 64GB internal storage.
4. Battery
The battery capacity of the OnePlus 3 will be downsized as compared to its predecessor. However, there will be a generous 3,000mAh battery to keep the lights on.
5. Camera and OS
In the camera department, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera will be accompanied by an 8MP selfie shooter, as reported by Trusted Reviews. The device will reportedly ship with Google's latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
The smartphone is also expected to arrive with a USB Type-C connector. Other connectivity options if the OnePlus 3 include 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, USB and GPS.
6. Price
The OnePlus 3 is said to be cheaper than its predecessor launched last year in August. The “2015 flagship killer” OnePlus 2 price started at US$349 (AU$487).
The unannounced OnePlus 3 is believed to arrive with a base price of 1999 yuan (AU$423).
In the meantime, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has cut the prices of the predecessors of OnePlus 3 including the first generation OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 and the Champagne edition of the OnePlus X .
