Apple's online store has run out of supply of the first batch of iPhone 4S and requested second shipment that will arrive in 1-2 weeks.

Two major iPhone carriers, AT&T and Verizon, said that their pre-sale supplies are already exhausted even before iPhone 4S is set to launch on Oct. 14. Sprint reported that their supply of 16GB iPhone 4S has been sold-out.

Last Friday, AT&T reported that it sold 200,000 in the first 12 hours. The company said that the overwhelming demand of iPhone 4S denoted as the most successful launch of Apple.

Last Sunday, AT&T said to their consumers ordering iPhone 4S that their handsets will be sent to them within 3-4 weeks.

Moreover, Verizon's site stated a delivery date of Oct. 21; while Sprint reported it had sold out of the lowest-priced 16GB iPhone 4S. Supplies of the more expensive 32GB and 64GB were still available from Sprint for delivery Oct. 14 or Oct. 15.

Unlike the iPad 2, which went on sale at 5PM; the iPhone 4S will be available early. On Oct.14, Apple stores will open earlier than usual for the launch of the new iPhone 4S. Apple stores are anticipating the overwhelming demand for the new handset.

Consumers who want to get their hands on the new iPhone 4S will have to wait in line as previous Apple store sales reported huge number of early birds.

Apple requested that consumers upgrade their iPhones to iOS 5 on Oct. 14 that will make the transfer easier.

The sell-out was not unusual for Apple products. However, the huge sales is attributed to the cool features of the new iPhone 4S including the camera and Siri.
