Optus, Vodafone Reveal iPhone 4S Prices
Two of the three largest Australian telcos Optus and Vodafone revealed the iPhone 4S prices as demand for the new Apple product among Australian consumers shows an overwhelming response to the newly unveiled smartphone.
The two carriers are set to launch the product in Australia on Friday, Oct. 14, which is a simultaneous release of the said product in the United States and Europe.
Vodafone announced that the new iPhone 4S will be available with infinite plans and Vodafone Caps, which includes unlimited text, talk and social networking access.
Vodafone's plans range from $44 inclusive of the handset repayment and 200MB of data for the 16GB version. However, the most expensive costs $84 with 3GB of data for the 64GB of the iPhone 4S.
The Infinite plans included unlimited voice and texting packages, with the cheapest at $62 for the 16GB version with 500MB. The most expensive is $100 per month for any of the handset models, with 4GB of data.
On the other had, Optus released their iPhone 4S prices that range from $59 per month for the 16GB model with 1.5GB of data up to $99 per month plan for all models, with unlimited value for texting and calls, with 5GB of data.
Vodafone offers different plan options; Optus offers lower handset repayment and higher amount of data.
Another Australian network, Telstra, has not reveal their iPhone 4S prices yet.
Apple fans can also purchase the handsets on Apple stores, which are already swarmed with orders because of the unprecedented demand for the new handset. The 16GB costs $799, the 32GB $899 and the 64GB $999. However, consumers will have to wait for two weeks for shipping.
The shipment of the iPhone 4S can be delayed depending on the number of orders. Australia is one of the first countries to have the gadget released in-line with the United States.
As for the iPhone 5, speculations abound that the mythical iPhone will be released next year. Howeverm Apple has not confirm the existence of the product in the near future.
