'The Originals: Awakening' First Part Recap/Spoilers: Aussie Actor Nathaniel Buzolic Returns, Kol Mikaelson Creates Dark Objects With Witches
The first part of "The Originals: The Awakening," the CW Web series exclusively from Target, focuses on the misunderstood Mikaelson family member Kol. Aussie actor Nathaniel Buzolic returns for the role of Kol Mikaelson in the brief Web series revealing about his association with the witches and his plan against his Original hybrid brother, Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan).
Fans are taken back to 1914 in New Orleans in "The Originals: The Awakening" where Kol Mikaelson (Nathaniel Buzolic) creates dark objects or weapons to be used against his brother, Klaus. The two witches helping Kol with his plan are Mary-Alice Claire (Keri Lynn Pratt) and her friend Astrid (Aleeah Rogers).
In the Web series, Kol is seen in his "tomb playhouse" teaching Mary-Alice and Astrid a unique witchcraft called "Kemiya." The two witches created the powerful blade that can make a thousand cuts as one of their dark objects or weapons to be used against Klaus.
Astrid thinks that they already have enough weapons to make their move against Kol's brother. "Each weapon we make is more disturbing than the last," Astrid declared. However, Kol wants to create more.
The Mikaelson sibling showed the two witches the dagger that he wants to use on Klaus. "We'll scare Klaus, the same way he scared me for centuries," Kol explained. "The Originals" writer Carina Mackenzie revealed in a Just Jared Jr. interview that the Web series has a strong connection to what is happening in "The Originals" Season 2. In episode 7 titled "Chasing the Devil's Tail," Kol's revenge plan against Klaus appears to be back in motion with his connection to Mary-Alice's descendant, Davina Claire (Danielle Campbell), the young powerful teenage witch who also wants Klaus dead.
"We're also going to introduce a couple of locations in the web series - Kol's secret clubhouse, and then later another place I can't tell you about for fear of the spoiler gods striking me down - that are going to become very important on the show," Mackenzie teased.
When asked if there is a possibility for more Kol-centric series, the writer revealed that she currently has no idea if there are talks about the project. "I think if Target wanted more and Nate was available we'd definitely talk about it!" Mackenzie shared.
