'The Originals' Episode 18 'The Big Uneasy' Recap/Spoilers: Witch Ancestors Reveal Plan on Klaus’ Hybrid Child
"The Originals" viewers can now say hello to New Orleans again as the CW spinoff series returned with Episode 18 titled "The Big Uneasy." In the brand new episode, alliances continue to be formed while conflicts also continue to arise between vampires, witches and werewolves.
Spoiler alert: This feature contains major spoilers on "The Originals" Episode 18 titled "The Big Uneasy." Klaus (Joseph Morgan) told Genevieve (Elyse Levesque) that he can provide the coven of witches the protection they need as long as they swear allegiance to him.
Monique Deveraux (Yasmine Al Bustami) was able to channel the witches' Ancestors and told Davina (Danielle Campbell) what they want. Monique revealed that it is time to resurrect the fourth Harvest girl in order to complete the ritual meaning Genevieve must die.
The red-haired witch acknowledged what the Ancestors want but insisted to Monique that she must do something important first before the sacrifice. Genevieve wants to get hold of powerful witch Esther's grimoire in order to secure their power.
Then, Genevieve asked Elijah (Daniel Gillies) to allow the "Feast of the Blessings" celebration where people will offer gifts to the witches in exchange for their blessings. The elder Mikaelson sibling agreed but he was not happy about it especially with his brother having a "nauseating intimate" relationship with her.
Klaus' allegiance with the werewolves made it easy for him to track down Cary, a descendant from his family line, and ask him to find out the kind of stone placed in the ring that was passed down from one generation to another. Meanwhile, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Thierry (Callard Harris) work on their plan to regain control at the French Quarter including getting Diego on board with them.
Monique and Genevieve taught Davina a lesson by not allowing the people to give her a gift. Klaus came to the rescue and ruined the witches' plan by giving pardon to Josh (Steven Krueger) and a gift to Davina.
The Original hybrid also knew about Genevieve's plan of stealing his mother's grimoire so he gave Genevieve the severed hands of her loyal follower as a gift. After receiving Klaus' present, Genevieve had no desire in helping Cami (Leah Pipes), who also gave her a beautiful gift in order to save Father Kieran (Todd Stashwick) and even told Klaus about Marcel and Cami sleeping together.
The celebration was further ruined when Marcel had compelled humans show up at the party to slit their wrists and make the vampires lose control. Elijah was not able to stop the murder and started to felt anger after reading Marcel's message on the wall written in blood: "There will be no peace."
Elijah confronted Marcel about not returning to the French Quarter and the Original vampire's punishment for Marcel's bold move is to rip out Thierry's heart. Meanwhile, Monique was about to fulfill the instruction of killing Genevieve but the Ancestors spared her life in exchange for a new order: the witch ancestors want Genevieve to kill Klaus' hybrid child.
"The Originals" will return on Tuesday night, April 22, at 8 pm ET on the CW Network with Episode 19 titled "An Unblinking Death."
