'The Originals' season 4 spoilers: Caroline could head over from 'The Vampire Diaries' to reunite with Klaus; the dead rise in season premiere 'Gather Up The Killers'

Fans were awed by that awesome KlaRoline moment in the series finale of “The Vampire Diaries.” With this, a lot of fans are wondering if Candice King would be headed to its spinoff, “The Originals,” for a brand new start with Klaus. Fortunately, big boss Julie Plec had been gracious enough to give out answers.

In a recent interview, Plec said that their timelines did not corroborate, so Caroline and Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) will not be seen together in this season. That said, there are potential crossover elements in season 4 of “The Originals.” Plec says she looks forward to playing around with the storyline and might be able to pull something off.

In the series finale of “TVD,” fans were given some hope that Caroline and Klaus would cross paths once again. Caroline had decided to open a school for children with supernatural gifts while Klaus was gracious enough to donate to this venture. He also wrote her a handwritten note that said he looks forward to thanking her in person someday -- no matter how long it takes.

Klaus and Caroline were last seen face to face way back in “TVD” season 5 on the show’s100th episode. This is where he forced Caroline to admit her feelings for him. After this, Klaus swore that he would never come back to Mystic Falls. That was the last time the series featured him.

Klaus obviously has a lot on his hands and the official promo for the season premiere of “The Originals” reveals that the plot will kick off on the fifth anniversary of his defeat. Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) already has control over the city and has welcomed a lot of his folks to New Orleans. However, he did not expect his subordinates to be a threat to him. It seems he will again be seeking some help from Klaus, after all.

Whether or not Klaus and Caroline will be reunited at a better place and time is yet to be seen. Alaric (Matt Davis) said that Klaus’ donation marked a huge start of another story. This could appear in a later chapter.

Season 4 of “ The Originals ” will premiere on Friday, March 17, on The CW in the US. It will also air in Australia on FOX8.
