Another picture of Sam Heughan from the production set of “Outlander” Season 3 has surfaced online. The picture shows the actor covered in blood. The actor and Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore previously announced that filming has officially started.
[Spoiler alert]
The first day on the set was all about the Battle of Culloden. The battle started towards the end of the previous season. Jamie (Sam Heughan) knew that the Highlanders were going to lose, but decided to join his friends anyway.
A new picture of Heughan from the set has been posted on The Wrap. The picture shows the makeup crew working on getting the right look for the scene that was being filmed. Jamie can be seen bleeding from the head, and even his clothes are covered in blood.
A lot of deaths are expected on both the sides in the battle. At least two major characters are set to die in this battle, based on the books written by Diana Gabaldon.
“Outlander” Season 3 is based on the third book in the series titled “Voyager.” As the name suggests, the main characters will be travelling on a ship to exotic new locations in the Caribbean. There will be 13 episodes in the season.
A new set of characters will be introduced this time too. Perhaps the biggest character being introduced is Lord John Grey, played by David Berry. The important character has his very own spin off book series. More casting announcements are expected in the coming months.
“Outlander” Season 3 is set to air in 2017. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date. With new locations and characters; the producers will have to race against time to get the logistics of the production right. There will be different timelines in the new season. After seeing an aged Claire (Caitriona Balfe), the fans will now get to see an aged Jamie.
