Panasonic DMC-CM1 Cameraphone With 20MP Sensor Slated For Dec. 1 Release In The UK
Introduced only two months ago, the Panasonic DMC-CM1 cameraphone is a camera-lovers' dream device. This handset combines the goodness of Android OS-powered smartphone and the capabilities of a point-and-shoot camera. According to a recent report, Panasonic will debut the handset in the UK on Dec. 1.
Panasonic DMC-CM1 cameraphone features a gigantic 20 MP sensor on the rear. This is the same sensor seen in Panasonic camera Lumix DMC-FZ1000. In addition to the huge sensor, the handset's camera unit also houses a Leica DC Elmarit lens with an aperture of f/2.8. In addition, the camera supports full manual control, high ISO light sensitivity range i.e. ISO 100 - 25,600 and the ubiquitous 4K video support seen in virtually all the recently released flagship devices, according to Phone Arena.
In addition there is a dedicated hardware shutter button and a toggle to switch between camera and smartphone modes, notes Android Central. Moving on to other key specifications, this handset comes with a 4.7-inch full-HD display with 1080p resolution. The device is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) processor, clocked at 2.3 GHz and backed by 2 GB of RAM. The phone is equipped with 16 GB of built-in storage and microSD card support for expansion up to 128 GB. On the software side, the handset runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS out of the box. Lastly, the entire configuration is held together by a 2,600 mAh battery unit.
Furthermore, this limited edition cameraphone has recently been launched in Germany and France. Following the aforementioned markets, this handset will be released in the UK in December; however, the pricing details have not been released so far. Nonetheless, the Panasonic DMC-CM1's price in Germany and France is 899 euros, which roughly translates to US$1,120 and AU$1,310.
