Wesley and Somerhalder are set to return as the Salvatore brothers in the upcoming “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 where they will deal with the new villains called the Heretics in Mystic Falls. In the brand new season, Ian Somerhalder, who portrays Damon Salvatore, is expected to go back to his old, dark and evil ways because of what happened to Elena Gilbert, played by Nina Dobrev.
In “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 finale episode, Kai Parker, played by Chris Wood, placed a spell that links Elena’s life to her witch best friend Bonnie Bennett, played by Kat Graham. The CW TV series ended with Elena trapped in a non-aging sleeping spell and she will only wake up when Bonnie Bennett dies.
As for Paul Wesley, his TVD character Stefan Salvatore concluded “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 with a promise to Caroline Forbes, played by Candice Accola, that he will be there when the blonde vampire is finally ready to take their relationship to the next level. “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 will premiere Thursday night, Oct. 8, on the CW Network.
