Neil Diamond is one of the honorees of the highly prestigious Kennedy Center Honors.

The singer-songwriter legend has been performing for 45 years and has been known for hit songs such as 'Forever in Blue Jeans.'

His songs have embraced almost every hit genre during his time. He was just 16 when he had his first guitar. He attended New York University with a scholarship but left to pursue writing songs.

During the 1980s, Diamond worked his way as an actor and starred in a musical, 'The Jazz Singer.' He admitted that the bad reviews hurt but he was just eager to test the waters and took it as another great learning experience.

The Kennedy Center Honors is the biggest achievement he has made this year along with being inducted as a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
