‘Pitch Perfect 3’ star Anna Kendrick said threequel may be last in the franchise
“Pitch Perfect 3” is surely happening this year, which is indeed great news for fans of the first and second films. The bad news is that the upcoming movie might be the last in the franchise. Actress Anna Kendrick (Beca) said she is not sure if there will be more films past “Pitch Perfect 3.”
“It feels like a trilogy, but I don’t know – maybe that’s what they said about Fast & Furious?” Belfast Telegraph has quoted the actress as saying. The “Fast & Furious” film franchise is now heading to its eighth film and “Pitch Perfect” fans could only hope that it will have the same fate.
Universal Pictures is reportedly making sure that they got the trilogy right. The studio has originally set the US release date of the film on July 21, but it was moved to the Christmas 2017 timeframe with a launch on Dec. 22. “Have yourself a merry little #Pitchmas,” Universal Pictures teased.
Kendrick, along with other “Pitch Perfect 3” cast, is currently busy filming for the upcoming movie. She shared that her friends and family understand and accept her busy filming schedule. The actress feels guilty for allowing her relationships to go limp. But the ones who understand her busy filming schedule stay.
“When you get this busy, you end up with the people in your life who are willing to put up with it. Anybody else ends up falling away,” she said. The American actress usually portrays confident characters in films she stars in. These include playing Jessica in the “Twilight” saga and Beca in the “Pitch Perfect” franchise.
But in real life, the actress said her personality is quite the opposite. She admitted that she is the type of person who would worry about how others perceive her. “I’m not sure if that’s a specifically female thing, to think that everybody must hate you,” she told UK Glamour magazine.
Apart from Kendrick, Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy), Hailee Steinfeld (Emily), Chrissie Fit (Flo), Kelly Jakle (Jessica) and Ester Dean (Cynthia Rose) are also coming back in “Pitch Perfect 3” to reprise their roles. Trish Sie was picked to direct the third film with a script written by Kay Cannon and a draft from Mike White.
"Pitch Perfect 3” is produced by Gold Circle Entertainment’s Paul Brooks and Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions. It is expected to hit Australian theatres on Dec. 22.
