Player walks through the open-world map of ‘Fallout 4’ in less than 11 minutes
Another “Fallout 4” gameplay video has been leaked, and this time a new footage shows the map size of the post-apocalyptic Boston setting of the game.
The new video shows an anonymous player travelling from one end of post-apocalyptic Boston to the other in less than 11 minutes. The leak is courtesy of Reddit user RedBeardedT. Links to the video spread like wildfire over the Internet, but it seems Bethesda is doing its best to take the video down immediately. Several YouTube videos regarding the leak has been pulled down as well.
The gameplay video was made to show how big the game’s map is. Players have expressed their concerns on the game’s map size after finding out that all it takes is 11 minutes to explore the map.
However, what’s not considered in the video is the overall density of the setting of “Fallout 4.” What this means is the size of the areas in the game was not taken into account. Many have compared the title's map size with Bethesda’s “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.”
It was previously revealed that most of the buildings and structures within “Fallout 4” are fully explorable. This could account for tons of quest, which could make for countless hours of gameplay.
The game’s developer had said before that the map of “Fallout 4” is thrice the size of the “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” map. In an interview with Digital Spy, the game’s director Todd Howard noted that almost all the buildings in the game are explorable. He also said that compared with “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,” the player is not obstructed by mountains and other items during his adventures in “Fallout 4.”
