It took a customized playlist for director Cameron Crowe to have Matt Damon say yes to the lead role in a new movie 'We Bought A Zoo.'

After a six-year hiatus from the film making industry, the director admitted that it was not at all easy to have Matt Damon come on board for his comeback film. All the drama of the process was ended when he sent the actor a compilation of songs that would inspire him about the direction of the movie.

The director even travelled to the set of 'True Grit' to present Damon with the script and the songs he burned in one CD. He also brought a copy of 'Local Hero' which is a movie made in the 80s that would inspire the actor more to reflect on the film he is offering.

Good thing that the two had something similar in mind: that they would not want to have the film turn out into some kind of 'Disney' movie version.

As Damon started running through the songs the director gave, it set him into a different vibe just like listening to the live version of Eddie Vedder's "Open."

The songs that Damon heard for the first time in their live version gave him a good feeling and finally made him say yes to the project.

The film also stars the lovely Scarlet Johansson who plays the wife of the character of Damon.
