PlayStation Plus October free games lineup, PS Experience 2016 announced
Sony is giving players an advanced sneak peek of its upcoming PlayStation Plus free games lineup for October 2016. While there are still a few days left before September ends, the full list of free games is already out, and as expected, the theme is very timely for the scares.
Since next month will end with the eve of Halloween, PlayStation players can get an advance on the fear factor.
Kicking off the month is “Resident Evil” on the PS4. The classic scary title from Capcom has received the remastered HD treatment in lieu of the 20th anniversary celebration of the “Resident Evil” franchise. For first-time players of the game, this is also the perfect time to jump in—the Halloween atmosphere has already set up the pace.
Also coming to the PS4 is “Transformers: Devastation.” The title from Platinum Games is meant to take inspiration from the original “Transformers” TV series. it also features some good action and combat system that gives players diversity, thanks to the lineup of five Autobots to choose from.
For the PS3, Ubisoft’s Mad Riders offers an off-road racing game with the goal of controlling the vehicle and getting past the obstacles. The other PS3 game is also developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. “From Dust” is supposedly a spiritual successor to Populous, and it’s about manipulating the environment to help the tribespeople.
PS Vita players will get “Code: Realize Guardian of Rebirth” and “Actual Sunlight." All of the games will be available for download on Oct. 4.
Apart from the new lineup, Sony has also confirmed that the PlayStation Experience 2016 will be happening in Anaheim, CA from Dec. 3 to 4. At the event, fans can experience the PS4 Pro on 4K TV, as well as demos for the PlayStation VR.
The event will start at 10:00 a.m. with the PlayStation Showcase. For those who want to check out the Capcom Cup, the finals will happen on Saturday, 6:00 p.m. Qualifying players will be competing for the prize pool and the title of “Street Fighter V” champion.
