Game console giant Sony partnered with GameStop and set up demo stations for the new game console PlayStation Vita at various GameStop locations.

Unfortunately, the PlayStation Vita is not yet for sale. The demo locations were for anxious gamers to show what to expect for the device.

Demo kiosks can be found in more than 3,300 retail locations equipped with eight upcoming launch titles available to players as sample. A diverse assortment of games was being demoed in the kiosks. There are a number of games that can be tried out in the devices including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Little Deviants, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, FIFA Soccer, ModNation Racers: Road Trip, Virtua Tennis: World Tour Edition, Escape Plan and wipEout 2048.

Sony is set to release PlayStation Vita in North America on Feb. 22. However, gaming enthusiasts can get theirs hands on the new device as early as Feb. 15 on the release of the First Edition Bundle.

Releasing PlayStation Vita is considered as a smart move for Sony. Prior to the conceptualization of PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Portable was considered as the Next Big Thing in the gaming world. However, technical drawbacks such as the single analog button and minimal library of high quality games made Nintendo DS much more popular than the PSP.

It is also a good thing that gamers can actually experience the real feeling and physical reality of the device before it hits the market. Apart from a good marketing strategy that makes Sony at par with the currently popular Nintendo game consoles, the kiosks can also heightened the anticipation of game users to the new device.
