The iPhone 6 on its 2014 release date will be readily available, meaning there will be ample supply for everyone with the expected killer features in tow, new reports said.

From Asia, where the device is normally assembled, DigiTimes reported this week that Apple is sticking to the 8-inch processing method in producing the next iteration of the Touch ID fingerprint scanner that was introduced with the iPhone 5S in September 2013.

Previously, Apple has reportedly planned a shift to 12-inch wafer-level packaging (WLP) from 8-inch for the biometric sensors but production glitches forced the tech giant to abandon the upgrade.

According to DigiTimes, "yield rates for 8-inch WLP are able to exceed 95 per cent, while those for 12-inch WLP at TSMC's facilities at the Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) stay between 70 per cent and 80 per cent."

TSMC is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, which the same report said is tasked to manufacture the Touch ID sensor for the iPhone 6.

The news, somehow, confirmed two things: that the next iPhone will again feature Touch ID but with expected significant improvements.

Also, the development that Apple made the necessary adjustments in order to ensure that volume production of the iPhone 6 will proceed as originally planned, signalling as well that target shipments will be met on time.

Barring any more issues to surface, Apple fans can expect the iPhone 6 to launch later this year and the release date to follow immediately, with the units in all variants ready for delivery or for consumers to take home minus the extended Apple Stores queue and waiting time.

Now apart from its Touch ID security features, the next iPhone is also said to flash innovative mobile device features, according to Apple Insider, which pointed to publications in Japan and South Korea as sources.

Japanese tech firm Sony has reportedly secured a contract with Apple that would lead to the use of Sony-designed and manufactured front cam CMOS for the iPhone 6. The same part is seen to figure prominently on Apple's enhancement plans for the popular FaceTime app.

Then from South Korea, media reports came out claiming that an iPhone 6 prototype was already completed and is currently in the testing stage. The same device is said to sport a screen that nearly stretches to the edges of the phone, leaving no bezel to surround the display panel, Apple Insider said on its report.

Expected too to complete this killer iPhone 6 features on release date are the following: a Liquidmetal casing that will make the device virtually indestructible, sapphire glass and coating, wireless solar charging panel, 64-bit A8 CPU and iOS 8.
