Puzzle game “Pokemon Shuffle” has once again received an update, and the new one brings rewards and new challenges to players. This next update opens up the Mega Steelix competition and a new special stage spearheaded by legendary Pokemon Thundurus.

The Mega Steelix competition is now live for the 3DS version of “Pokemon Shuffle.” The competition will run until Dec. 8, so players should act fast for a chance at amazing prices. Serebii has detailed the prizes for the new event.

Placing in the top 12,000 in Europe, 19,000 in North America and 50,000 in Japan will bag players a prized Steelixite. Those who place in the top 2,300 in Europe, 3,800 in North America or 10,000 in Japan will be receiving a Mega Speedup. Placing in the top 16,000 in Europe, 27,000 in North America or 70,000 in Japan gets gamers an Attack Power Up and a Disruption Delay. However, those who fail to nab any of the stated position will still receive a jewel.

Available now as well is a special stage headed by Thundurus. The Thundurus stage is available both on the 3DS and mobile versions of “Pokemon Shuffle,” and it will run till Dec. 8. Players can take their chances on the stage only once per day. As each day passes, players will have a bigger chance of acquiring Thundurus as a reward.

The mobile version will be getting an exclusive event as well, with the Mega Lucario competition now officially live. The top 100,000 players worldwide will get a Lucarionite, while the top 10,000 will get a Mega Speedup. If a player already owns a Lucarionite and manages to get it as a reward again, he or she will instead be given a jewel. Those who don’t manage to make it to the top 100,000 will be given an Exp. Points *1.5 item.

In other “Pokemon” news, the upcoming fighting game “Pokken Tournament” will be getting another character next week, Gematsu reports. The next character will be revealed on Dec. 10.
