He got run out in a clash between Australia and Zimbabwe in Ahmedabad in India and in a fit of anger, Australian skipper, Ricky Ponting has reportedly smashed an LCD television set in the team’s dressing room.

Quoting sources from Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), the Times of India reported that the incident came when Australia’s cricket team captain was run out on 28 by a direct hit from Chris Mpofu in the Group A class earlier.

Representatives from the GCA said that they had already notified the Australian counterpart on the reported incident.

Australian media manager, Lachy Patterson has remained mum about the smashing incident, saying he is not aware of any such incident, noted Times of India.

GCA officials however, are planning on conducting a meeting to discuss any actions to be undertaken following the incident.

Considered as one of Australia’s finest cricketers, Ponting is a specialist right-handed batsman and slips and close catching fielder. The Aussie team captain is also an occasional bowler. He has represented the Tasmanian Tigers in Australian domestic cricket and has played in the Indian Premier League with the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008.
