The disciplinary committee of the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) has handed down its decision Monday on the unfortunate headbutting incident at the match in Milan last week between AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspurs.

The Control and Disciplinary Body of the UEFA met Monday to evaluate the incident and found that AC Milan midfielder, Gennaro Gattuso should be held accountable over the attack last week.

According to Bigpond news, a statement on the official website of UEFA said that Gattuso have ‘assaulted Spurs coach assistant, Joe Jordan following his team’s lost in last week’s match.

The disciplinary body fronted Gattuso with a ‘charge of gross unsporting conduct’ following the ugly incident that resulted from Milan’s 1-0 loss at the homefield to Tottenham.

With the committee’s action, Gattuso is now banned to play in the next four matches of UEFA club competition which will begin with the resumption of the first leg next week.

This means that Gattuso can only play for the Champions League final at Wembley if Milan can advance after their last-16 tie next week.

Gattuso, as described in reports last week, came rushing over to the bench of the rival team and grabbed Jordan. The Italian midfielder explained that his outburst had stemmed from the ‘racist remarks’ shot at him by Jordan.

Jordan, is a former player of Milan and an international Jordan, is a former player of Milan and an international striker. He was described by the Associated Press as a ‘renowned hardman’. The assistant coach for Spurs denied hurling racist remarks at the younger Gattuso.
