Pottermore Web Site Up and Running Again after Crashing Due to J.K. Rowling's New Harry Potter Update on Dumbledore’s Army [WATCH VIDEO]
Potterheads or fans of Harry Potter and other characters written by J.K. Rowling can heave a sigh of relief because the Pottermore Web site is up and running again after briefly crashing due to the author's new Harry Potter update about Dumbledore's Army (DA) on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. However, instead of just reading it online, those who want to view it must sign up for a free Pottermore account. Thankfully, it's just a quick and easy sign up to read Rowling's new story about Harry and the gang. It was written through Rita Skeeter and her gossip column at the Daily Prophet.
According to Mashable, the Pottermore Web site crashed on Tuesday morning, July 8, 2014, but it was quickly fixed by 9:30 a.m. ET.
"Pottermore is currently unavailable. Please come back later and try again," read the message posted at Pottermore when it unexpectedly crashed.

Rowling (as gossip columnist Rita Skeeter at the Daily Prophet) wrote about spotting the DA in Patagonia, South America where the 2014 Quidditch Finals is happening. Of course it included seeing their famous leader Harry Potter, who is visibly older with a few white hairs mixed in with his black hair. Harry and company were reportedly at the VIP section of the campsite at the Patagonian Desert.
Harry also introduced his sons James and Albus to none other than the Bulgarian seeker Viktor Krum, who is an old friend of his.
Upon seeing the DA, Skeeter also divulged some gossip about them including relationship blues for Harry and his wife Ginny and Harry's mysterious cut on his cheek.
Here are the other Dumbledore's Army updates posted by Skeeter on her column:
- Harry Potter - Almost 34 years old, still famous after all these years, but this time as an Auror for the Ministry of Magic who fights dark wizards much like You-Know-Who a.k.a. Voldermort. He's still wearing round glasses, is married to Ginny Weasley, has graying hair and a cut on his cheekbone
- Ron Weasley - Ex-Auror. Currently Co-manager of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Has thinning red hair
