Pre-orders start for Samsung Gear S2 Smartwatch; shipping slated for November
The watch comes out as a pretty strong alternative to Apple Watch
Samsung unveiled its new Gear S2 Smartwatch that's to be shipped next month to those placing pre-orders on October, 29, said Yahoo UK News.
The watch comes out as a pretty strong alternative to Apple Watch and is meant to prove better in many ways. The dial features a round, rotating bezel allowing a more natural navigation through the apps.
Wearers will fall in love with Gear S2 Smartwatch's customizable features that allows changing apps by altering their order, thus giving a whole new look to the watch face. Those on the move will find it easy to access text messages and emails quickly.
While Apple is still striving to offer better ways of personalizing its latest update, Samsung has already done it, reports Whitsunday Times.
Fitness fans will find Gear S2 comfortable in the water since its exterior body is water-resistant. The smartwatch can withstand water up to three metres deep for almost 30 minutes.
To keep up with the current demand for multiple options, the watch is designed with a gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer and a heart rate monitor. The combination of home and bezel along with the back buttons allow you to navigate through the apps with much ease.
You have two options for the watch: Gear S2 and the S2 classic. While the Gear S2 appeals mostly to fitness fans, the S2 classic will be loved by those with penchant for classic style as it features a black finish with a complementary leather band.
You won’t feel like you're wearing a watch since it weighs just 50 grams and has a very thin body at 11.4 mm. The screen offers 360 by 360 resolution at 302 pixels per inch. Powered by 1 GHz dual core processor along with Tizen operating system, the watch is powerful enough to handle multiple tasks at a time.
Put it on a wireless charging dock to charge it. For now, the apps available aren't that many, but Samsung plans to collaborate with partners and developers to increase applications and customizations.
