'Pretty Little Liars,' 'The Flash' top 2017 Teen Choice Awards nominees; see who else got the nods

Teen Choice Awards 2017 has announced its nominees, and it looks like almost every show and celebrity that has trended for the year will be receiving some trophies soon. Voting is still ongoing, so fans have a lot of time to make their favorite shows and celebrities win some distinction.
The Academy Awards might get credit for all the prestige and drama, but everyone is still into the Teen Choice Awards. This awarding ceremony caters to the flashiest and trendiest shows like “Teen Wolf,” “Pretty Little Liars,” The 100” and a lot more. These are shows that have been ignored by older audiences but have been getting all teens from all parts of the globe raving.
TV Guide officially gave the first wave of nominees for this year’s Teen Choice Awards, and as expected, all of them are impressive. There are new shows such as “This is Us” and “Riverdale,” which have delivered well, while there are on-screen veterans about to conclude such as “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
This year, a new category called “Throwback TV Show” is being introduced. This category gives credit to shows that have been the most loved by teens once upon a time, and have now become icons in the industry. Some of these shows are “The OC,” “Veronica Mars” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
One of the most awaited categories is the Choice Drama TV Show, and its nominees are “Empire,” “Famous in Love,” “Riverdale,” “Star” and “This is Us.” For Choice Drama TV Actor, the nominees are Cole Sprouse from “Riverdale,” Ian Harding from "Pretty Little Liars,” Jesse Williams from “Grey’s Anatomy,” Jussie Smollett from “Empire,” Milo Ventimiglia from “This is Us” and Sterling K. Brown from “This is Us.”
For Choice Drama TV Actress, the nominees are Ashley Benson from “Pretty Little Liars,” Bella Thorne from “Famous in Love,” Lucy Hale from “Pretty Little Liars,” Sasha Pieterse from “Pretty Little Liars” as well as Shay Mitchell and Troian Belisario from “Pretty Little Liars.” Other categories are Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show, Choice Action TV Show, Choice Comedy TV show and a lot more. The Teen Choice Awards for 2017 airs August 13, 2017 on FOX in the US. It will also be shown on FOX Australia.
