The battle on Turkey's Gallipoli peninsula was one of the bloodiest of the Great War, as thousands of soldiers from the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) were cut down by machinegun and artillery fire as they struggled ashore on a narrow beach. The fighting would eventually claim more than 130,000 lives, 87,000 of them on the Ottoman side, before the Turks finally repulsed the poorly planned Allied campaign. Prince Charles seems very much taken with his new grandchild, the baby Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. He recently commented on how the newest addition to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s family is different from his brother, Prince George, back when he was her age.

According to UK’s Ok Magazine, Prince Charles has just revealed that Princess Charlotte is “really the perfect princess.” The proud grandfather was reportedly heard bragging about his granddaughter during a tea gathering he and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, hosted at Clarence House for the pilots and crew who fought in World War II.

One of the guests recalled what Prince Charles had said about Princess Charlotte and informed US Weekly. According to the invitee, the dotting grandfather commented on how the baby princess is not giving Kate Middleton and Prince William a lot of trouble at night compared to Prince George when he was at her age. Charlotte is said to be an easy sleeper compared to her brother. “We were talking about grandchildren, and he was saying Princess Charlotte does sleep through the night and it was much easier on mum than Prince George,” the guest revealed.

However, the Duke of Cambridge had a different story to tell about his daughter when he met with England’s women football team last month. Steph Houghton, captain of the Lionesses team, told People that Prince William actually admitted not getting enough sleep because of Princess Charlotte and Prince George. "He was saying he's obviously really enjoying being a father and Princess Charlotte is actually keeping him up - and probably why his eyes are looking a little bit tired,” she said.

Regardless, Prince Charles remained smitten and thrilled with Princess Charlotte. This would not be the first time he had expressed his excitement over his granddaughter. Shortly after the princess’ birth on May 2 in London, he had reportedly told a crowd at the opening of the Poundbury Cancer Institute how happy he is to finally have a granddaughter. Calling Princess Charlotte “beautiful,” Prince Charles admitted he was “hoping for a granddaughter” so someone could look after him when he gets very old.
