Prince George's bathrobe sold out after Obama meeting picture; personalised royal robe now on offer
A picture of Prince George meeting US President Barack Obama wearing a bathrobe has led to the company announcing that the product has been sold out. A new personalised “Royal” bathrobe is now being offered in its place.
The bathrobe that Prince George was wearing when he met Obama was from My 1st Years. In a Facebook post the company said that it was hard to believe that the little prince wore one of their products. The company pointed out how “adorable” the boy looks in the photo. Commenting on the post, some people also exclaimed how “cute” Prince George looked.
“You guys have gone crazy for it & it's already sold out,” the company said in the statement. However, the company is now offering personalised “Royal Robe” on their official website. Priced at £27 (about AU $50.43) the bathrobes are available for both boys and girls.
The bathrobes are currently only available for pre-order. It is available in seven colours that are Baby Blue, Royal Blue, Fuchsia Pink, Yellow, Red, Baby Pink and Dark Grey. The name of the baby will appear in the bathrobe and a maximum of 12 characters are allowed. The name can appear in one of four font options, which are Verdana, Cambria, Rounded or Handwritten. Readers can also choose not to personalise the product.
The company describes the bathrobe as ideal for putting on over pyjamas, the way Prince George did in his picture with Obama, or use it to dry off after a bath. The bathrobe comes with a hood at the back and a waist tie that has been stitched to the back of the garment.
The company promises that the fabric will feel “super soft” against a baby’s skin. The bathrobe is made with 100 percent cotton and is machine washable. It is suitable for newborn babies up to 3 years of age. The product is expected to be delivered within 21 days of pre-order.
