Princess Madeleine and Princess Sofia of Sweden were chic and business-like in their choice of outfits for the Global Child Forum held at the Royal Palace of Sweden Stockholm on Thursday. Madeleine took a little break from her maternity leave to attend the forum. She flew in from her home in London to Sweden to highlight a cause that holds a special place in her heart.

The princess’ attended the charity event along with King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. Madeleine channelled business chic in black trousers and a cream frilly top. She paired the outfit with a very stylish black cape. The 33-year-old royal took some style inspiration from Kate Middleton and styled her long blonde tresses in a Chelsea blow-dry, Hello reports. She completed her look with a black handbag and matching high heels. She wore brown lipgloss.

Madeleine’s sister-in-law Sofia also looked chic in black trousers. She hid her baby bump under a teal asymmetrical top. Her brunette tresses were pulled back tightly in center part and styled into a low ponytail.

Sofia completed her look in a pair of black ankle length boots. She looked radiant and accessorised with a metal watch and black clutch bag. She showed off her dark manicure and wore bright brown lipstick. Sofia is currently pregnant with her first child with husband Prince Carl Philip.

Silvia wore a bright blue skirt suit combination. She paired the outfit with a printed blouse and matching scarf that was tied around her neck. She accessorised with a floral broch and wore black heels.

Sofia gave a speech about her charity, Project Playground, which is a South African children's charity People reports. "I've seen a fair share of suffering, poverty and neglect. But I've also seen children's eyes light up with hope, as they are empowered to shape their own lives," she said.

Madeleine, meanwhile, returned to spotlight with her royal duty and attended the forum. It is a cause that is very close to her heart for which the royal travelled from London to Sweden, Hello reports. But, she has not yet returned officially to royal duty following the birth of her second baby this year. Since the birth of Prince Nicolas in June, Madeleine has been devoting her time to her newborn baby.

The doting mum has also been taking care of her 22-month-old daughter Princess Leonore. She moved to London in August with her British-American husband Chris O'Neill and their two children. It is thought that Madeleine will return to her native Sweden with baby Nicolas, while Chris and little Leonore will remain in the English capital.

The Global Child Forum, which brings together 400 leaders from the world of government, business and civil society, is held each year to champion a better future for all children, Hello reports.
