The PlayStation 3 controller will now be designed to work with upcoming Sony Xperia phones. Players can now enjoy console-style games the way they were meant to be played.

Players simply need to pair the two devices initially via USB cable and after that just press the PS button on the controller and your phone will recognise it as Bluetooth device it can party with. Sony Xperia SP is an upcoming mid-range device with dual-core processor which can connect with the PS3 controller.

The DualShock controller is also not limited to only one device, which means several other Xperia phones may detect the device for pairing and game play. If you desire to use the controller on an Android device, there is a solution but a bit complicated with an application need to download and some procedures to follow; no root is required.

How to Play Android Games Using the PS3 Controller
Sony PlayStation 3 controller is now possible to be used to play with Android games and it only need a few things, apps, run check, and step-by-step procedure.

1. Run a compatibility check
The developer made a compatibility check using a tool for free before you start spending on a full app. Download Sixaxis Compatibility Checker and run the test to know if your device is eligible for the controller. If your device is good, note the "local Bluetooth address" for you will need it later.

2. Install the Sixaxis Pair Tool
Download the Sixaxis Pair Tool PC application on your computer.

3. Connect the PS3 controller
Use the mini-USB cable and connect the control pad to your computer and open the Sixaxis Pair Tool. It will install some drivers needed to communicate with the pad itself.

4. Manual Pairing
Sixaxis Pair Tool will display the current Bluetooth address that is paired with the pad. Input the phone's address you have copied a while ago on the blank box and click "update." Unplug the mini-USB cable.

5. Configure the Sixaxis App
Launch the Sixaxis app on your phone. Start the scan and press the power button on the PS3 pad, four red LEDs at the top of the pad should blink and one will stay lit indicating that the pad and your phone are connected successfully.

6. Bind Keys
Press the menu button in the Sixaxis Controller app and select "preferences." You can bind Android keys to buttons on the pad itself and make note of the bindings you have created since you'll need them later.

7. Bind Buttons in the Emulator
Several emulators were tested such as MD.emu and PCE.emu and it should work with any Android app. Edit the bindings in the emulator's options menu and ensure each key does what it should.

8. Play the Game and enjoy
