The long wait is finally over--Driveclub, the PS4 exclusive racing game, now has a definitive release date after the delay. You can now expect Driveclub to arrive for the PS4 on October 8.

Sony Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida himself has updated fans via PlayStation Blog Europe about the announcement for Driveclub, stating that the crew was finally able to state a launch date for the title.

"We planned for the game to be ready for early 2014 and are committed to delivering on our ambitious promise of creating a truly innovative, socially connected racing game. The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way," said Yoshida.

"What DRIVECLUB offers has not been previously achieved in this category and because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you're waiting for."

Aside from the announcement of the release date, Yoshida has also updated fans of the new game director, Paul Rustchynsky, who was the game director for MotorStorm RC and has had a hand in some of the titles from Evolution Studios.

With the layoffs happening in Sony's headquarters, it's good to know that the company is able to ensure that the projects are not left to suffer.

Daylight, Child of Light out on PS4

Speaking of releases, the PS4 is also getting two more games to its collection, starting with Daylight, the horror game from Zombie Studios and ATLUS.

For those who don't know what to expect of the title, it is a first-person survival game that makes use of horror elements, a hospital setting and the unique importance of light in the game.

According to ATLUS PR manager John Hardin, the game also takes advantage of the procedurally generated aspect of the game, which makes every round and run that you do a unique one from any that you've played so far. This is because the game has been built to analyze your gameplay so that the fear factor is at its maximum each time.

In addition, those taking advantage of Twitter can also play horror tricks on their friends, as the game can make use of the chat channel of the stream. This means that your friends can type in keywords and scare the pants off of you.

Daylight is already available for $9.59 for PS Plus members and $11.99 if you aren't. But this is a limited discount until May 13, as after that, the title will be out for $14.99.

Child of Light on the PS4 and PS3

The other PS4 game that is already out on the PS Store is Child of Light, which also has a PS3 version released alongside the PS4.

Child of Light is from Ubisoft Montreal, and it's a game that targets both the JRPG diehards and those who are just coming into the RPG platform. According to PlayStation Blog, the title also features strategic combats, a deep narrative and an evolution of main character Aurora as she progresses throughout the game.

Unlike Daylight, Child of Light is sold at the original price of $14.99.
