With the Xbox One/Xbox 720 now turning its used games and 24-hour online check-in policies, it seems that PlayStation is put in a rather unsteady position. For one thing, those who may be thinking of shifting to the PS4 may not be swayed by the Xbox One, especially for diehard fans.

However, Sony still has a few tricks up its sleeve, starting with a new look at its interface.

Back in February when it was first revealed without the black box, the PS4 had also touted social media and connectivity features, most of which have been drowned out by some glaring points, such as the no-DRM feature, the indie game support, no restrictions on used games, and the price tag.

While the latter half has been abolished except for the indie games and price tag issue with Microsoft's recent reversal of its policies regarding 24-hour check-ins and used games, Sony is now touting its social features, which, in the video, displays how players can maximise their use.

GameSpot reports that you can Like games activities, download a single-player or multiplayer feature for digital titles, and write messages to fellow gamers and friends.

The Share functionality was also highlighted, bringing together a gaming community through a choice of online interactivity.

Battlefield 3, among others, gets into PS Plus free list

As though foreseeing the move from Microsoft and to also add fuel to fans who may be considering a subscription to the PS Plus to enhance the gaming experience and freebies with the PS4, Sony has added a few more titles to the offered list of free games for a $50/year subscription.

VG 24/7 reports that Battlefield 3 and Payday: The Heist will be free for download in July, as early as the first week. Saint's Row: The Third will also be a free download.

Apart from the free games, the report also states that there will be discounts available for those who with subscriptions, specifically a Wolfpack DLC.

Exclusive to PS Vita owners, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and Unit 13 will also be free for download.

The PS4 takes the stage on Late Night

On the second night of Video Game Week for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon was PS4's turn to take the stage, following yesterday's focus on the Xbox One.

Mark Cerny, PS4 lead system architect, showed Jimmy Fallon the ropes with Knack, which he says is a game that can be played by the family and for the family.

But the highlight of the segment is the fact that Sony gained another channel to unwittingly showcase the features that made it dominate the E3 last week--such as the used games support, the no online requirement, and even the $399 price.

Sony knows where to deliver its punches with the right flair--the question is whether or not Microsoft can deliver a counter so that it will keep the ball rolling for its own court.

Check out Jimmy Fallon playing and enjoying Knack, which is slated to come out with the console this holiday season.
