Preorders won't seem to be a problem for Sony's PS4 as a new report coming from a leaked memo to GameStop suggests that there will no longer be a cap for the preorder units starting this weekend for the PS4.

"Starting now, through this weekend and until further notice, Sony has allowed us to take unlimited preorders beyond your current allotments," according to the statement as quoted by GameSpot.

So this means starting this weekend, those who want to be the first to get their hands on the PS4 will be able to place their orders with GameStop. GameSpot also adds that this may takeoff from Sony's changed projections that have skyrocketed every since its massive win of a conference at the E3.

Hopefully, this new development won't become an overpromise on the part of Sony, considering the production and shipments of the PS4 console. Earlier, there have already been reports regarding PS4 having potential shipping problems, which may come as a handicap in its supposed lead against Xbox One.

For the most part of the race on the preorders chart, PS4 has been leading, though previous reports of Xbox One gaining back the number one spot on Amazon have started to circulate.

More to come for the PS4 at Gamescom

Even with the E3 2013 now officially a week over, there's still something to look forward to that would ease the long wait for the holiday releases of the two next-gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One.

Amid policy reversals and skyrocketing preorder figures, there's another bit of great news, this time concerning more reveals of PS4 games.

Those who felt that the E3 2013 for the PS4 was more of a revelation of its great software features and lack of restrictive policies rather than a great display of more game titles than was has already been previously known, there's actually a reason for the absence, at least according to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO Jim Ryan.

Speaking with Gematsu.com, he said that there's another venue wherein gamers can look forward to the announcement and reveal of more PS4 first-hand titles: Gamescom.

Happening on August 21 to 25, Gamescom will be held in Cologne, Germany. "There's a lot coming. I'm sure you heard from [SCE Worldwide Studios boss] Shu [Yoshida] that he has--just his studios--he has 30 games in development," said Ryan to Gematsu.com.

"So there's a lot going on, it's just that we need to keep stuff back. We've got Gamescom for us Europeans--we need to have something to show at Gamescom, don't we?"

Apart from the 30 games, Ryan has also mentioned 20 of the titles being available during the first year of the PS4 alone with 12 of the being new IP. Seems like a long wait for a reveal, but considering Sony's track record, those upcoming titles will be something to look forward to.

Release date for new PS3 system update

Those who have been part of the PS3 bricking incident after a software update was released last week can look forward to another update--hopefully better and functional this time--which Sony has announced will be released on June 27, Thursday.

"A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue," said the statement from Sony as quoted by Eurogamer. "We have temporarily taken 4.45 offline and are investigating the cause of the problem. We will announce when the system update is available for download as soon as possible."

Latinos Post reports that those who may have experienced the malfunction after you've downloaded the update should just leave the device be, as the attempts to fix the error just resulted in the PS3's inability to reboot.
