Just before you get your PS4 console when it releases on November 15 or 29 (depending on where you are), it's best to become more familiar with the FAQs that have been recently released by Sony on the official PlayStation website.

In the FAQs, it details the sharing benefits, remote playing, activating your own PS4 system, and some tidbits about the Friends list on the different PlayStation devices.

One of the more important things to note would be the sharing feature of the game. According to the report, downloaded games can be played with other users who share your own PS4 system, and you no longer have to login to the system if you are one of the other users for playing games.

Sony also highlighted the sharing benefits using PlayStation Plus subscription, such as the online multiplayer features that can now be enjoyed by other users of your PS4 console. Basically, it's important to activate your primary PS4 system to enjoy all of these sharing benefits.

On the other hand, when you are playing on PS4 consoles that are not your primary system, there are also a few rules to keep in mind. For instance, you can easily purchase games from any other PS4 console when you sign in to the PlayStation Network.

However, you're the only one who can start the games that you have downloaded. Also, you can't share your PlayStation plus benefits with others if you are not using your primary PS4.

Lastly, the PS4 allows you to have as many as 2,000 people on PSN as well as view them on any device where you are signed in via the PSN. But note that since not all PlayStation devices have the same hardware, the number of Friends displayed will vary. For the PS3, only 100 of the 2,000 on the PS4 will be displayed. On the PS Vita and PlayStation App, you can view all Friends, though there are still certain conditions for the PS Vita. Check out the complete list of PS4 FAQs here.

Day One Patch details

Aside from the PS4 FAQs, Sony has also announced that a day-one patch will be made available for the PS4, titled 1.50 update. And this patch will bring the PS4 quite a number of new applications and features.

GameSpot reports that the patch will be available on November 15, and will be 300MB big, though this seems pretty justified given the new features. These include support for Remote Play and Second Screen using the PS4 Link app. The update will also allow the Share functionality using the new Share button on the DualShock 4, so you can share your gaming progress with friends on the PSN or other social networks.

Those who are getting the PS4 Eye Camera will also enjoy the 1.50 update as it will add voice commands and facial recognition via the camera. Party voice chat support, online multiplayer, the PlayGo feature where you only need to download part of a game to play it, and broadcast options for Twitch.

Entertainment purposes for the PS4 with Day-One Patch

Similar to the Xbox One, the PS4 is also bringing with it some entertainment features in the console, including the ability to watch Blu-ray and DVD. But this feature has been added in the Day-One patch instead of being an installed feature on the get-go.

This means that those who want to use the PS4 for more than just gaming should really opt for the Day-One patch.

According to Digital Trends, it seems that the PS4 really requires the Day One patch, if only because most of its outstanding next-gen features come right after the PS4 console is updated. Without it, you are basically operating on a seemingly current-gen console.
