Having capped off Black Friday with a lot of deals, gaming fans are now looking forward to what the remainder of the year has in store. This means looking at the last set of free games that Sony and Microsoft will offer for 2014 for the PlayStation and Xbox platforms, respectively.

But before truly leaving Black Friday, it may interest fans to know that the Xbox One may have caught up with the PS4 in terms of sales during the sale fest, if a report is to be believed. Venture Beat reports the findings of a market-research firm, which suggested that the price cut that Microsoft's next-gen console has offered may have allowed it to get a fair share of the gaming market.

According to the report, InfoScout, a market research firm, has stated that the Xbox one enjoyed 53 percent of all console sales made during Black Friday, while the PS4 only got 31 percent. Considering how much the Xbox One's price has changed since it was introduced last year, it may be that the console is just ramping up a fan base.

Still, coming into the new year, the PS4 and Xbox One are bound to butt heads again. However, this time, the battleground will revolve around games, especially with exclusives and big-name games coming out for the remainder of the year and into 2015.

Final PS Plus December Lineup Revealed

Sony doubles down on games as it releases the full lineup for the PS Plus December 2014. Last November, some titles were teased for December and even January, but considering how short the list had been back then, fans are assured that there's still more to come.

Finally, Sony has announced via the PlayStation Blog that there will be a total of six games coming with the PS Plus December 2014. This means there will be two free games for each of the three PlayStation platforms: PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

PS4 fans will be getting two different combat titles: "Injustice: Gods Among Us" Ultimate" Edition and "Secret Ponchos." For the PS3, there's the stealth shooter "Hitman HD Trilogy" and the mystery title "Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut." And lastly, for the PS Vita, it's a fest for tower defense and shooter with "Final Horizon" and "Titan Attacks!" Note that the PS Plus December 2014 lineup is free for subscribed members of the PS Plus.

Games With Gold For December Also Announced

For those on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms, Microsoft is introducing three new free games to cap off the year via the Games with Gold program. Major Nelson has announced this via his blog, starting with the free title on Xbox One. The next-gen console will get "Worms Battlegrounds" for free.

On the other hand, Xbox 360 players can look forward to "The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief" from Dec. 1 to 15 and "SSX" for the remainder of the month. As usual, Games with Gold is available for those who are Xbox Live Gold members.
