While the Xbox 360 arguably beats the PlayStation 4 and Xbox competition, some Xbox owners are now switching from Xbox to PS4, which is a cheaper console with competitive online play.

PlayStation 4 players also switch to Xbox because of its the ability to control the TV and cable box, use multiple apps simultaneously on the screen and its Kinect 2 features.

Here's a list of specs and features to help you compare the PS4 and Xbox One:

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are both powered by an AMD APY with Radeon 7000 series GPU but their differences in specs could impact the performance at one point. While the Xbox One has an advantage with its higher processor speed, the PS4 wins in the GPU, even if Microsoft has a faster clock speed on GPU.

Both consoles also offer similar-looking games such as the Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield and others. The gameplay, details and explosions are very similar. One console may end up gaining an edge over the other in the long run but right now the biggest advantage is that the PlayStation 4 can run games at a higher resolution than the Xbox One. The PS4 can run at 1600 x 900 resolution, which is higher than the 1280 x 720 in the Xbox One.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One offer many games but it is important to note that gamers are not allowed to play PS3 or Xbox 360 games in the new platforms. This is annoying for many gamers who have to keep their old consoles to play old games.

This time, PlayStation requires those who want to play online to buy PlayStation Plus and no need to pay $50 for a year of Netflix subscription. The Xbox One requires an Xbox Live account for online play, Xbox One TV Guide and entertainment apps use.

While the PS4 controller has a 3.5 mm port for headphones, the Xbox one has new rumble triggers and a thinner center area for comfortable grip. While the PS4 clearly wins the controller battle for more functions, the Xbox One is the obvious winner between Kinect 2 vs. PS camera. The new Kinect can turn on the Xbox One with a voice command and facial recognition technology. Although the PS4 also has the voice command feature, the Xbox One is more accurate and offers wider control of the console.

When it comes to entertainment, the Xbox One wins with its ability to take over a cable box with the Xbox One TV Guide as a replacement. It has the Xbox One Kinect sensor that blasts IR commands, NFL app that offers updates and scores and more. While Sony allows gamers to play PS4 games on Vita and the PS4 app with remote play, Microsoft offers SmartGlass and connects to Windows 8 and 7 devices. The PlayStation 4 is cheaper than the Xbox One but keep in mind that this investment will last your for the next 5 to 8 years.
