Gamescom may not just be an event for the Sony's next-gen console PS4 to shine, but also the PS Vita to take some of the thunder for recognition.

Ever since the reveal of the PS4, Sony has been ramping up on promotions and talk about the PS Vita, and how it's a great companion device for the PS4 when it launches later this year.

Some people feel that the PS Vita won't really get much of the attention that Sony desires for it, but with the latest Twitter reveal from Antony Clark, director of business development at Sony Computer Entertainment, it seems that they are not letting go of the idea of a PS Vita and PS4 combo.

"Gamescom. Coming soon. So many cool things to tell the world. #ps4 #psvita #gc2013"

Previously teased earlier this month, Sony has been gearing up for the Gamescom 2013, happening in Cologne, Germany this August. After the widely positive reception of the PS4 at the E3, Gamescom may be the next venue for it to surprise more of its fans with more game titles.

Of course, Microsoft's Xbox One will also be there, so expect a showdown, given that a lot has already happened with Microsoft's next-gen console since its reveal.

Xbox One: Next change would be price?

As mentioned, the Xbox One's latest change (or addition) to its Xbox One's functionalities is the partial download feature, which is very similar to the PS4's Play As You Download.

While the Xbox One slowly looks like it's going down the road that the PS4 is currently on, IGN's research based on its readers have shown that there is still one factor that the Xbox One will have to amend in order for those who aren't even planning to buy the console.

According to the research, price was a big factor in the mix, with 43% of the survey respondents stating that they don't plan on buying the console at all, due to price. The three other top reasons that follow include exclusive games, graphics, and controller design and feel.

Considering the changes that Microsoft has already gone through with regard to making the Xbox One seem more palatable to gamers, does this hint at a possible move to lower the price of the console?

Chron.com thinks that there is a possibility, since the Xbox 360 had been able to do this without significantly affecting the games. Although this time, many developers are making use of the Kinect to enhance the gaming experience.

Expect Microsoft to revise their messaging and potentially deliver a new one come Gamescom 2013.
