Chris Pratt actually predicted he would be starring in “Jurassic World” six years ago. The 36-year-old American actor was just joking when he claimed “annoying” Steven Spielberg tried to contact him about starring in the film in 2009, but as it turned out, he was 100 percent accurate.

In the recently unearthed behind-the-scenes clip for the second season DVD of “Parks and Recreation,” Pratt joked about getting messages from the Academy Award-winning filmmaker, who was apparently begging him to star in the billion-dollar franchise. In 2009 when the clip was shot, “Jurassic World” was still just a possibility. It had been rumoured and planned for years after the third film’s release in 2001, but nothing was set yet.

Also, Pratt’s fame was still discreetly burning at that time. It was pre-“Moneyball” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.” He was typecast as immature, goofy and somewhat rotund characters, including as Andy Dwyer in the now-defunct “Parks and Recreation.” He was nowhere near scoring top-billing roles then. That’s why his 2009 joke was deemed unlikely at that time but is now regarded as a prophecy.

“Man, I just got a text message from Steven Spielbeg. God! So annoying!” he deadpanned in the clip. He then replied to the director, telling him he was busy. “I’ll have to get back to you later about Jurassic Park 4.”

Six years later, Pratt did indeed star in the fourth “Jurassic Park” film. “Jurassic World” was released on June 11 in Australia, and has broken numerous records during its opening weekend, including the highest-grossing opening worldwide. The film, executive produced by Spielberg, was directed by Colin Trevorrow. It also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, B.D. Wong, Ty Simpkins and Vincent D’Onofrio.

This isn’t the first time Pratt predicted his future. Although he had no idea what he would do when he was still in high school, he knew he was destined for success.

“My high school wrestling coach reminds me about this time I came into his office and he said, ‘Chris, what do you want to do with yourself?’” Pratt told EW in an interview in July 2014. “I was like, ‘I don’t know, but I know I’ll be famous and I know I’ll make a s--- ton of money.’”

Indeed, he became famous and is now earning a Hollywood A-list figure. He is currently filming “The Magnificent Seven” with Ethan Hawke, Matt Bomer, Peter Sarsgaard and Denzel Washington. It is expected to hit theatres in 2017.
