Razor Strikes Back To The Wearables Arena With The Cheaper Nabu X
The company has recently unveiled the Nabu X which is a cheaper option at $50 as compared to the original Razor Nabu, which comes at $100. The more obvious change is the lack of the OLED screen which is now being replaced by the red, green and blue LED lights which can be configured depending on the notification received. The new fitness tracker still sports the generic look and comes with a clasp.
As mentioned, the Nabu X will come without the familiar small OLED display that would show notifications when they come in. Instead, the Nabu X is equipped with a set of three LEDs which will inform its wearers of the type of notification that is coming in, making use of the different colours to signify different apps. For some users of fitness trackers, the change to LED light notification makes the Nabu X less useful since its users would be required to check their smartphones every now and then to see what the notification is.
The more affordable Nabu X can work with Apple's iPhone 5, 5S, 5C and it is also compatible with smart devices using Android 4.3 version and up. Based on Tech Radar's review, the fitness tracker can withstand user's daily activities with its lithium-polymer battery which can last from five to seven days plus 30-days on standby. Additionally, the Nabu X is IP67 water resistant which can endure 30 minutes of being submerged under water around one meter deep.
The Nabu X's sensor module also comes with three interchangeable straps in black, green and white variants. The new wearable has kept its soft-rubber finish and the availability of the three colour straps gives users the chance to be a bit more stylish.
One of the exciting features of the Nabu X is its ability to detect other Nabu wristbands near its location. According to Razer, the wearer can automatically exchange contact info with another Nabu user. The company is working on an app that will allow Nabu users to automatically see other Steam gamers wearing the Nabu in the same room.
According to Digital Trends, the Nabu X will be available in the weeks to come for $50. For those who signed-up for the Razer loyalty group called Razers Inside, they can pre-order the Nabu X for only $20.
