When it comes to predicting Apple’s new releases, the prophecies of Ming Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI Securities, have turned out right much of the time, and this time his intuition about a 4-inch iPhone
6C has come true.

Confirming Kuo’s prediction, IHS Technology Research Director Kevin Wang said the upcoming phone is likely to arrive in the first half of 2016.

In July 2014, there were reports of Foxconn making bulk orders for metal casings to be used in producing the Apple iPhone 6C. While making this announcement, Ange Wu (an analyst from the Jefferies Group) also added that Apple fans will have the new handset only from next year, reports PhoneArena.

Wang consolidated the news by posting it on his Weibo page where he mentioned the phone’s arrival and its 4-inch display spec. Nothing more was revealed in the post since no further information is available about the device as of now.

Kuo earlier told the media Apple won’t launch the 4-inch 6C with its 6s Plus release last September. Unlike Wang’s and Wu’s stories, Kuo foretells the new release won’t happen before next fall and it will probably be announced along with the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apparently, the new handset will come with an Apple A9 chipset at a time when the iPhone 7 will be making headlines with the new A10 SoC. The A9 is highly regarded for its 64-bit ARM-based SoC that claims to offer 70 percent more CPU performance.

Also, the chip is meant to produce 90 percent more graphics compared to the Apple A8 chipset. Backed by a dual core processor, the A9 boasts of per core L1 cache of 64 KB for data and another 64 KB for instruction. The chip includes an image processor with spatial and temporal noise reduction.

It’s true the iPhone 5C hasn’t gotten a huge fan base, but its sequel is expected to become a hit, reports Gforgames. Besides, customers will enjoy a budget priced handset with the most advanced features an iPhone has to offer.
