Google Nexus 5 release date may happen this autumn as reports tipped that LG is already working on the device.

South Korea publication MyDrivers reported that LG Electronics is working on the rumoured Google Nexus 5 based on the specs and features of the recently released LG G2. Moreover, the device will cost $299 without a contract.

Some of the LG G2 specs are: quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM; 13-megapixel camera; 3000mAh Li ion battery; Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean; and 5.2-inch 1080p HD with a slim 2mm bezel surrounding it. Some of these features may be included in the next Google Nexus 5.

Despite the myriad of rumours, very little is known about the successor of the popular LG Nexus 4. It is still unconfirmed whether LG will be in charge in making the next Google Nexus smartphone. But we will surely get some hints on the upcoming launch event of LG.

Rumours claimed that the Google Nexus 5 will include a 5-inch Full HD screen display; an eight-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM; 13MP rear camera; 3300mAh battery capacity and the latest Android OS.

The handset is rumoured to be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants and will support 4G/LTE connectivity, which was missing in the Nexus 4.

Due to the immense success of LG Nexus 4, Google is expected to release the next generation of the device. LG Nexus 4 was sold out in minutes after its release and 400,000 units were sold initially. Google and LG also entered in a mud-slinging and blaming game on who is at fault for the slow production of the handset.

Last May, LG denied that it is working on Google Nexus 5 release date. An executive of LG Electronics confirmed that the company is not working on the successor of the popular LG Nexus 4 dubbed as Nexus 5.

Vice President of LG Mobile in Europe Won Kim said in a statement: "The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again." However, follow-up reports claimed that the statement was misinterpreted implying that LG is indeed prepping up on the Google Nexus 5 release date.
