The long anticipated OnePlus X has been officially released, but is the phone worth the wait? Reviews are pouring in stating the phone is here to stay -- and probably rule. Intended to wow users with its sleek design and innovative features, this new OnePlus X is a lot to look at. Let’s have a look into it.
OnePlus X is a killer flagship that weighs-in more on looks and performance. Contemporary design, a tough, anodised metal frame and curved edges define the exterior display of the phone. Check out the phone’s geometric edged grooving details with a black glass rear panel encasing the phone.
Its 5-inch AMOLED display packs 1080p resolution in full HD. The thin bezels along the edges render a subtle look that embodies ‘sophistication’.
As for the processor and hardware, the phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801-quad core processor synched with 3 GB RAM for boosted performance, as reported by Know your Mobile. Seems the old chipset inside tweaked with ample memory is a greater addition to this latest device than its predecessors, the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2.
Also, the phone boasts of an Adreno 330 GPU along with internal storage space at 16 GB expandable via microSD card. Its 2,520mAH battery claims claims to be long-lasting. Plus, the device supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11in, a microUSB, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Camera lovers will be delighted to know OnePlus X features an 13 MP Isocell primary camera fitted with f/2.2 aperture and a front-facing camera. This is big for selfie lovers that can now enjoy excellent picture clarity, according to Techradar.
The phone is up for sale from November 5 till the end of month. In December, the phone will be available on weekly open sales that will continue
Since OnePlus is using the invitation distribution model, its ‘Onyx’ version will be available at US$249 in the U.S. and £199 in the UK (AU$345). The fancier Ceramic version won’t be available in the UK but will be retailed in Europe at £269 (AU$576).
