Everyone in the music industry knows that Katy Perry's best buds with the "Umbrella" singer Rihanna. So when her marriage fell apart and Russell Brand finally called for a divorce, Katy knew the moment the rain started to fall she only had to run to her best friend for support.

'Katy is hardly speaking to anyone right now, but she called Rihanna as soon as she heard Russell was filing for divorce,' shares a source to the DailyMail.com.

Rihanna proved to be a friend indeed when she invited over Perry at Barbados after the split. Of course the singer knew that sunbathing and swimming in Hawaii wasn't the only solution for Katy Perry's heartache. So the two are said to be jetting over to the Caribbean for some vacation and girl bonding. However, if that isn't enough, Rihanna has got all that covered with more plans up her sleeve.

The big question on everyone else's mind is why run to your best friend, have you no parents dear Katy Perry?

"Katy was embarrassed about calling her parents as they'd been so against Russell in the first place," says the source in an interview by Hollywoodlife.com.

"But Rihanna was a great support for her and she really helped to calm her down." added the source.

So what's all this talk going on about Rihanna being the reason behind the split? Well for one, Russell Brand was against Katy Perry's choice of a best friend. He was not comfortable with Katy Perry's lifestyle and his friendship with Rihanna posed a threat to him after his recovery from being a sex and heroin addict.

Bottom line: rumors suggest Russell Brand didn't like his wife hanging out with Rihanna.
