Fans can get a sneak peek of the upcoming title for “Rise of the Tomb Raider” with new hi-resolution screenshots. These have been circulating all over the Internet, and as can be seen, these showcase more than just pretty shots.

The new batch of screenshots feature the weather dynamics in “Rise of the Tomb Raider,” showing off snow, mountains, hiking and even bear attacks. A NeoGAF user has compiled all of the new hi-res screenshots in the link here.

Apart from the new screenshots, Game Informer also had an exclusive interview with developer Crystal Dynamics and unearthed a couple of new information. Talking with creative director Noah Hughes, the discussion revolved around the use of puzzles and how the game will be physics-based.

“We really do celebrate puzzle design as a unique facet of our gameplay formula and we really take that as a challenge not just to create the fiction of a tomb space but also deliver on the sense of using resourcefulness, wits and smarts to unlock these secrets,” said Hughes.

What this means is that “Rise of the Tomb Raider” will see a mix of 2013 reboot’s aesthetics as well as an infusion of the ancient space from before. Even with all the talk of physics and difficulty in puzzles, this doesn’t meant that only veteran players will get to enjoy the new title. Hughes revealed that even though they wanted to challenge players, they want to bring the game even to the enjoyment of average players.

Hence the use of nested puzzles, which have been included in previous “Tomb Raider” titles. This pushes up exploration to a higher level, as players will be looking at areas of the room and tinkering with the elements instead of just trying to piece together a singular puzzle in front of them.

According to Gamespot, the next “Tomb Raider” title will find its way into Siberia featuring a day and night system and dynamic weather. Both of these features are meant to affect the overall playstyle, from stealth to dealing with the environment.

It has also been reported before that “Rise of the Tomb Raider” will see Lara Croft using a number of bows and arrows in the quest. But for the trigger-happy fans, rifles and shotguns won’t exactly be amiss, reports Gamingbolt. “Rise of the Tomb Raider” is set for release on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on a timed exclusive deal. Fans can expect to get their hands on the title this holiday season.
