‘Riverdale’ season 1 episode 12 spoilers: KJ Apa broken hand twists some plots for 'Archie Andrews'

KJ Apa has gained quite a following for his portrayal as Archie Andrews on the "Riverdale" series. While the show isn't exactly as light-hearted if compared to the iconic comic books series, it has managed to draw in viewership.

For those who have not yet seen "Riverdale," most of the comic characters are there only with a more serious side. Apa portrays fairly similar traits as Archie on the comics while other ones like Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) are more serious that comedic. For season 1, the main plot is to find out who killed “Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines).”

A lot has happened since the pilot episode of "Riverdale" last Jan. 26. In chapter 11 titled "To Riverdale and Back Again," things got a bit chippy with most wanting to know who was behind the murder of Jason Blossom. The turning point was the discovery of a gun at the home of FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich).

But before the discovery, Archie and Veronica were snooping around to find evidence to clear the latter’s dad, Hiram Lodge. Both found nothing but could eventually be tied up in chapter 12. Both admitted to Jughead and Betty they were at FP’s house but found nothing.

The upcoming "Riverdale" episode will focus on trying to find out who planted the gun. However, the gang will have trust issues, particularly Juggy. With Apa claiming he suffered the broken hand in the season finale, it will be interesting how the producers will incorporate the alleged injury, M-Magazine reports.

There are various possibilities on set which could have led to the broken hand of KJ Apa. It could be by accident like perhaps falling somewhere or a fight scene. It could be the one who framed FP Jones or the lead suspect in the Jason Blossom murder.

Either way, Apa promises a good season finale but the broken hand is likely to be incorporated. Seeing how Archie has been in pursuit of a music career, the injury could hamper his ambitions to be a musician, a sidelight of who Archie Andrews is in the comic book.

Before fast-forwarding to season 2, "Riverdale" was renewed for a second season), the mystery at hand is finding Jason Blossom’s killer. FP is obviously not the one and the gang will try to find out who put the gun there.

Alice Cooper (Madchen Amick) may have motive but that would be all too easy. Same goes with Penelope Blossom (Nathalie Bolt) who has been against the Coopers. Clifford Blossom (Barclay Hope) or Hal Cooper (Lochlyn Munro) may also have reason but pinning them down would be too easy.

Someone who could be behind it is the biker boyfriend of Kevin Keller (Casey Scott), Joaquin (Rob Raco). Joaquin does have ties with FP but he was at the dance when it all happened.
