Robert Downey Jr. Talks Visiting Ex Sarah Jessica Parker In New York
Robert Downey Jr. has said that he recently met his ex, Sarah Jessica Parker. He added that he met her kids and they had a good time catching up.
In an interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM (via Page Six), the “Avengers: Age of Ultron” star shared that he had the opportunity to catch up withg his ex-girlfriend. He said that when he was in New York, he decided to visit Parker. He said that he felt the need to have a word with someone who had shaped his life significantly. He had once shared a big part of his life with her. They dated for seven years before deciding to go their separate ways in 1991.
The “Ironman” actor said that their meeting went without any hiccup, which took place at the apartment of “Sex and the City” star. Both of them are currently married, Downey Jr., 50, to wife Susan while Parker to another actor, Matthew Broderick. The courtesy call turned more fun and meaningful because Downey said he met Parker’s children. He said the whole meeting was “cool,” especially seeing her handl her kids.
“You know, the funny thing too is you always have a perception of somebody that you spent a big chunk of your life with and I think it’s typical to the human thing that the further you get away from that in your new relationship, you sub-intentionally taint your perception of the person,” he said. “Seeing her I was like, ‘She’s so great and so cool and so funny and so in command."
The actor claimed that he has nothing but respect for Parker and her husband, especially after seeing how the kids are living. He missed seeing Broderick however, but said he would love the opportunity to see him because for his generation he was an inspiration, especially the “New York theatre guys.”
In other news, Parker is set to return to television. She would be returning to HBO for a new series called “Divorce.” Her “Sex and the City” co-star Kristin Davis is said to be surprised about the news and at the same time, excited about watching the show, especially since she knows the entire cast.
