Are Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart set for a steamy reunion? Robert and Kristen may have not seen each other since they split in May 2013, but the powerful, heartthrob couple could be having a steamy reunion under the sheets in the controversial ’50 Shades of Grey’ movie.

The former couple had made such a huge success as Edward Cullen and Bella Swan that even if they don’t want to be in the same room, they may not be able to resist the elusive roles if film officials think they are the best actors to play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

A senior film officials from Focus Features talked to Daily Star and asserted that Robsten could be reunited in the big screen adaptation of EL James’ best-selling erotic novel.

“They are virtually guaranteed to stimulate huge box office interest,” the unnamed senior official was quoted as telling Daily Star.

Rob and Kristen are sure on the top list for the top leading roles. But like any other actors, they have to go through the process and audition like everyone else.

The unnamed source noted, “Rob and Kristen will both have to audition like everyone else, although they are bang at the top of director Sam Taylor-Johnson’s wish list.”

The controversial film has been making headlines for months, even years, or its movie casting. It is one of those rare big screen production which already set a release date (earlier announced as August 1, 2014) but no lead actors have been named as of it.

The film follows the story line of a “tortured billionaire, Christian Grey and how he brought a college student, Anastasia Steele, into his fantasy world involving “bondage and sado-masochism.”

It has become one of the biggest publications “of the century,” said the Daily Star. It’s author E.L James is included as one of the 100 Most Powerful Celebrity listings by Forbes in 2013. To date, records show that James trilogy has been bought and read by an estimated 70 million people in 37 countries worldwide.

The book is so big that it could be even bigger on screen.

“We are definitely looking towards a franchise,” the source reiterated.

If the film honchos go for Rob and Kristen for the coveted lead roles of the franchise, the film could never go wrong, according to the senior source.

“And with five Twilight films under their belts, Rob and Kristen have already proved they can carry a big-budget series,” the source said, underscoring that the Twilight lovers are the best actors for the job.
